Winterball is an opportunity for girls to prepare for next year's Spring season. Ideally, players will play in the same age division they will be required to play next year. It is also an opportunity for players who are not required to move up but are considering it, to try out the next division.
Winterball is organized by NorCal and consists of 2 tournaments and six weeks of play. Games consist of doubleheaders and are played on Saturdays for the 14u and 16u divisions and on Sundays for the 8u, 10u and 12u divisions. Games are played throughout the NorCal region.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
This year, winterball is only available to players who were registered for the spring season and who played in at least half of the scheduled games available to them. If a player does not meet this criteria they must petition NorCal for eligibility.
Players meeting this criteria may state their intentions to play winterball by completing the on-line registration form below. You must come to either of the 2 registration & pay dates to pay the fees. If fees are not paid by the final registration date a spot on the team may not be held.

or an additional $25 Opt Out Fee will be charged in addition to the registration fee.
Practice begins in August 2011. Games consist of 2 games (double header) played on Sundays for divisions 8U/10U/12U and 2 games (double header) played on Saturdays for the 14U/16U Division. Practice will be the decision of the coach. Games will be held at Smythe Elem. School and other fields within the greater Sacramento area.
All 22 Norcal Leagues participate in the Lalapaloosa seeding tournament on Sept. 3-5 Labor Day Weekend, League Play from the second week of September through October and the Final Closing Winterball Down and Dirty Tournament on Oct. 28-30. (8U division does not participate in the Labor Day tournament and their Closing tournament will be held Oct 22-23.)
All Natomas teams will not have the same schedule. Norcal makes the schedule based on how each team does in the Labor Day tournament. Natomas Girls Softball has no control over the schedules. In prior years about half of the games will be home games at our fields and the other half will be traveling games.
